Dylan Wilcox   /   A work in progress

Always up for
figuring it out.

Building things. Taking the back roads.
Helping people find their footing.

There's a story here.Keep wandering
Based in Greenville, SC.   Usually curious.
01 / The person behind the tabsA few things about me

Hello, I'm Dylan.

I like making
things possible.

Sometimes that means software. Sometimes it means a bathroom that needs rebuilding. Sometimes it means showing up for four Scouts who need a leader.

I'm happiest when I'm learning how something works or helping someone realize what they're capable of.

Curiosity tends to get me into things.

02 / Take the long way

Good things
happen off
the main road.

Give me a physical challenge, a road trip, or a back road I haven't taken. I like having a plan. I also like seeing where the detour goes.

A little room for the unexpected. That's part of the point.
Outside is a pretty good place to start.
03 / Learn by doingSome assembly required

“I could probably
figure that out.”

A recurring thought.
Occasionally followed
by a trip to the hardware store.

01From flood to a fresh start.

After my house flooded, I redid bathrooms, vanities, and flooring. I like the kind of project that makes me learn something new along the way.

02One more thing to try in Codex.

I love tinkering in Codex. A recent rabbit hole: editing reels for Scouts. Taking a pile of footage and shaping it into something people want to watch is its own kind of building.

03Plans that turn into good days.

I enjoy the behind-the-scenes part, too: helping Scouting units, plotting trips, and figuring out fundraisers. A little planning makes room for a lot of possibility.

04 / Show up. Help them grow.Troop 36 · Restarted in 2022

It started
with showing up.

In 2022, Troop 36's leaders had left. Four Scouts were still there, without anyone to lead them.

I restarted the troop. We grew from four youth to sixteen.

I like seeing
the best
in people.

And being patient while they find it in themselves. That's a big part of what keeps me coming back.
05 / A few things I carryTap a little detail

It's the little
things, too.

You can learn a lot about a person
from the things they keep coming back to.
